An arsenal of weapons has been taken off Lewisham streets in the past month.
More than 14 knifes, including axes and machetes, have been uncovered by officers from July 4 to yesterday (August 4).
MORE TOP STORIES The deadly haul has been uncovered through a mix of stop and searches, weapons sweep and search warrants.
Sergeant Jon Biddle said: “Most of them are off the street, the axe was found during something on the street.

“If a young person is carrying a knife like this the best thing that's going to happen is we're going to stop them and they're going to get themselves arrested. The worst thing is they're going to end up injured or dead.
“If you know someone is carrying knife then you need to contact us or Crimestoppers. It's all about being a life saver.”
