Children got creative 90 metres above the Thames as part of a challenge inspired by London’s iconic skyline.

The Emirates Air Line cable car, which runs from North Greenwich to Royal Victoria, invited families to get crafty on board the scenic route.

Each family was given a box of K’NEX and asked to make something inspired by the sights within 20 minutes, the length of a round trip.

After completing the challenge, people can then enjoy a single or round-trip for free to enjoy the view.

MORE TOP STORIES Some of the creations include the London Eye, and youngster Storm Drury, seven, explained his structure: “We’ve built the metal tree sculpture by the side of the river. We chose the tree because that way we have a sculpture of a sculpture.”

The winner will be decided by Mumsnet CEO Justine Roberts and announced on Friday (August 7).

The lucky entrant will win a K’NEX 70 Model Building Tub, a family ticket for the Emirates Air Line and Thames Clippers and free entry to the Emirates Aviation Experience.

Danny Price, head of the Emirates Air Line, said: “The cable car is a great attraction for children with spectacular 360 aerial views of the Capital and this promises to be a fantastic event for the whole family to enjoy. Children can build anything that their imagination conjures up - from a tower, a ship, a plane or even a new cable car.”
