Two lanes are closed on the Dartford Tunnel approach due to a broken down lorry.

There is currently congestion on the M25 anticlockwise to j2 A2 (Darenth Interchange).

The left-hand West Bore tunnel is closed, running all traffic through the higher East Bore tunnel - which was closed overnight.

Meanwhile, frustrations mounted overnight (Aug 3), as roadworks around the Dartford Tunnel delayed drivers.

Some claimed there was 'stationary traffic' on approach to the Tunnel, as two lanes and the higher tunnel were closed for nine hours.

The four-night roadworks started last night - they will run every night from 8.30pm-5.30am.

They are expected to finish at 5.30am on Friday (Aug 7).

The lane closures affect the anticlockwise route between j1A A206/A226 at Erith/Swanscombe and j31 A1306 at West Thurrock.

The East Bore tunnel - the higher of the two - is also closed overnight.

Vehicles up to 4.8 metres high can use the West Bore tunnel, whilst taller vehicles are on diversion.
