Strict licensing conditions have been imposed on a New Cross nightclub after a teenage girl sustained horrific head and facial injuries outside the venue.

Jodie Hills, 19, claims she was thrown out of The Venue, Clifton Rise, and pushed onto railings by a doorman in the early hours of Saturday morning.

She suffered a 10-inch cut to her forehead and a broken nose and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service paramedics where she received 28 stitches.

Club bosses were issued with new licensing conditions to take immediate effect at a hearing heard by Lewisham Council’s Licensing sub-committee last night (July 29).

The Venue cannot reopen until it adheres to the measures and a further review will be held in 28 days.

All door supervisors at The Venue must now be recruited from an Approved Contractor Scheme company and last entry to the club is 2am.

The nightclub has also been told to update its CCTV to colour, digital, play in real time and cover the entire premises.

A computer ID recording system must also be installed.

Lewisham borough commander Chief Superintendent Kate Halpin requested an expedited - fast-track - licensing review on Tuesday.

Bosses at The Venue deny any wrongdoing, claiming Jodie’s injuries were caused when she fell outside the club after she had been ejected.

A 35-year-old man and a woman, 38, were interviewed under caution at a south London police station on Monday as part of an ongoing police investigation into the incident.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and urge anyone who was in the area between 11.50pm on Friday and 3.35am on Saturday to come forward.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
