Two people have been questioned as police continue to investigate how a teenager sustained horrific facial injuries outside a New Cross nightclub.

Jodie Hills, 19, claims she was thrown out of The Venue, Clifton Rise, and pushed onto railings by a doorman in the early hours of Saturday morning.

She suffered a 10-inch cut to her forehead and a broken nose and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service paramedics where she received 28 stitches.

A 35-year-old man and a woman, 38, were interviewed under caution at a south London police station on Monday (July 27).

Lewisham borough commander Chief Superintendent Kate Halpin has requested an expedited - fast-track - licensing review, which will be heard by Lewisham’s Licensing Authority tonight.

The Venue faces a host of strict licensing conditions or having its licence suspended altogether pending a full review in 28 days.

Bosses at The Venue deny any wrongdoing, claiming her injuries were caused when she fell outside the club after she had been ejected.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and urge anyone who was in the area between 11.50pm on Friday and 3.35am on Saturday to come forward.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
