The vegetables narrowly avoided a roasting during a fire at a set of allotments in Dartford last night (July 27).
Fire fighters battled the shed blaze on Wilmot Road, which was well-established by the time they were called at 11.55pm, for almost an hour.
Kent Fire and Rescue sent two fire engines, and crews estinguished the fire - which affected a shed sized 3metres x 5metres - using hose reel jets.
