A house blaze in New Eltham last weekend was thought to be caused by overloading plug sockets.
Firefighters have warned of the dangers of overloading, after the fire at Crockham Way on Saturday morning (July 11).
Part of the ground floor of the building was damaged by fire.
A man escaped before fire crews arrived and was treated for smoke inhalation.
Fire investigators believe that the fire was caused by an overloaded plug socket.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "It’s tempting to plug several sets of electrical equipment into one socket but I’d really advise against that.
"Sockets can quickly overheat and this can lead to serious fires.”
Firefighters from Eltham and Sidcup fire stations were called at 6.24am and the fire was under control by 6.55am.
