A cyclist hit by a bus in Woolwich had his bike stolen as he was given first aid by passers by.

Police and LAS were called to a collision between a Route 96 bus and a bike in Woolwich New Road, by Woolwich Market, at approximately 6.50pm last night (July 7).

As the 47-year-old man was being given first aid by passers by, his bicycle was stolen.

He was taken to a south London hospital suffering from minor injuries to his head and arm.

Officers from Greenwich are investigating.

The accident comes just hours after a huge smash in Bexleyheath involving two buses injured 16 people.
