A Brockley mum-of-two sent a hilarious 'complaint' letter to Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, moaning that her wait time in hospital was not long enough.

Yael Biran went to Lewisham A&E after falling and breaking her elbow on June 15.

However the Brockley Way resident, who does not get "a second's rest" from her little boys, was frustrated at the speed of her treatment at University Hospital.

Ms Biran had come "armed with a book", prepared for hours of delays - but the service did not meet her expectations.

Ms Biran shared a jokey complaint letter on Facebook, writing: "Two minutes later I get to see the nurse who is an absolute gem and is super nice, she explains everything, gives me a sling, and a tetanus shot and sends me on my way home!

"Home! Bloody rubbish!"

"I left home and came back in less than two hours!

"Seriously! Something must be done about this!

"What is a mum to do in order to get a few hours of quiet reading in this country??!!!"

Friends urged Ms Biran to email the complaint on to the trust - which she did on June 17, and received a swift response the next day.

She told News Shopper: "It's nice to say when the good stuff happens, and to remember it's not all bad.

"Because the NHS is an amazing thing - it's just awesome.

"When stuff goes right you think: 'That's the way it should be, then you ignore it.'

"But actually, the fact these things go right quite a lot is amazing, it's brilliant."

Chief executive Tim Higginson replied: "It is always refreshing to receive a 'complaint' such as this which has brought a smile to the faces of many of our staff who were involved in highlighting it for my attention.

"Although, admittedly, I may not be able to sympathise with being a mum of two demanding boys, I can fully empathise with the challenges of finding some peace and quiet to read a good book.

"I'm sorry that your treatment in our ED didn't afford you that time but naturally I'm delighted your experience was clearly a positive one and that you have taken the time to write to us about it.

"I do hope that your elbow is healing and you are recovering well."
