A 73-year-old man was threatened with two knives and injured when a pair of burglars forced their way into his Shooters Hill home, police say. 

On Wednesday (July 1), at around 5.30pm, two men knocked on the Bushmoor Crescent house's front door.

When it was opened, they pushed their way inside, threatening people inside with two knives before stealing credit cards and £700 in cash.

One of the victims, 73, suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

The first suspect is described as black, in his early 30s, around 6ft tall, of stocky build, with short dreadlocks. 

The second suspect is also described as black, in his early 30s, around 6ft 2ins tall, of medium build, with short cropped black hair. 

Both men wore khaki uniforms and had African accents.

Detective Constable Andrew Payne, from the Greenwich Burglary Squad, said: "We are currently following a number of enquiries and believe that the suspects may have specifically targeted this address in Bushmoor Crescent. 

"We would like to appeal to anyone who noticed anything suspicious around the area of Bushmoor Crescent on the afternoon of July 1. 

"Any information, however small, may assist with our investigation, so please, if you noticed anything suspicious get in touch with us. We will treat all information in the strictest confidence."
