A man who was killed in a one-vehicle crash on the A20 at the Swanley Interchange has been named as Andy Roberts.

The 44-year-old mechanic died as a result of his injuries suffered in the collision on June 6 at around 3.15am.

His family has paid tribute to the father-of-seven, describing him as a "larger than life character".

In a statement released through Kent Police, they said: "Andy loved his family and was a true family man. He was a father to seven children and was married to his wife Sarah for 12 years.

"He was a much-loved son, brother, uncle and nephew. He has been described by his eldest son Ben as his idol.

"Andy was a mechanic and worked with cars for most of his life. He was a very hardworking man and would help anyone and happily go out of his way.

"He had a love of films and had a large collection. He also had a passion for World War II planes, especially German aircrafts.

"He was a larger than life character and all who met him, loved him. He had an infectious smile that would bring joy to all. Andy will be missed greatly and was loved by all his family, friends and all who knew him."

Officers investigating the collision continue to appeal for anyone who may have seen Mr Roberts’green E-class coupe Mercedes shortly before the collision.

They would particularly like to speak to the driver of a black Audi who may have been stopped nearby around the same time and seen the car.

Any witnesses are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.
