Fast food giant Pizza Hut has launched an investigation into allegations a pizza was delivered from its Downham branch with a metal nut and bolt inside the box.
The rogue ‘toppings’ were lying on a pizza delivered from the chain’s branch on Bromley Hill on Friday, it is claimed (June 5).
Charity boss Jane Plumb posted a nauseating photo of the nut and bolt atop the pizza, which was also laden with red onions, mushrooms and sliced black olives.
Ms Plumb, medical charity Group B Strep Support’s chief executive, wrote alongside the photo: “Found a nut and bolt in pizza delivered by Pizza Hut Downham yesterday – @pizzahutuk.
“No comment yet from store.”
She also posted on Twitter that the pizza had been ordered by colleague Susan Gregory, the charity’s chair.
