An Orpington teenager has been arrested after a spate of shed and garage break-ins.

The 15-year-old was arrested on Sunday (May 31) on suspicion of stealing a bike earlier that day from a shed in Eynsford.

He has been bailed until June 12.

The teen was arrested as officers continue to investigate a series of break-ins in the Sevenoaks area which could be linked.

Between Saturday and Sunday (May 30 – 31) two bicycles were reported stolen from a garage in Otford.

A shed was burgled nearby with thieves making off with garden machinery and golf clubs.

There was also a failed attempt to steal a rotavator from a nearby garden shed.

“During this time of year reports of thefts from outbuildings and gardens do tend to increase but by taking a few simple steps you can protect machinery, bikes and other valuables from being targeted by thieves.”

They advised all residents to ensure their valuables are securely locked if stored in out-buildings.
