Gravesend market traders will shut up shop at the town's Market Hall for the last time on Saturday (June 6).

Gravesend Borough Market Hall will close at 5pm ahead of a £1.8million makeover, starting this summer. Ten market stalls will relocated to Unit 16/17 in St George’s Shopping Centre.

Other stallholders have decided to continue trading in other shops in the area whilst the move has forced some to discontinuing trading altogether.

The Queen Victoria statue will undergo repair and cleaning with the help of £20,000 of funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
