The finishing touches are being made to Biggin Hill's Festival of Flight which takes to the skies next week.

On Saturday (June 13) the airport will host their second festival of flight - which now includes a longer flying display - building on the success of last year

Some of the highlights of the show will be an appearance by the RAF Aerobatic Team "The Red Arrows", who will be performing aerial tricks.

Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, a specially choreographed airfield attack will be demonstrated using Hurricanes and Spitfires.

The planes, alongside German Messerschmitt 109’s, will give viewers an authentic glimpse into what an air attack was like complete with special effects and pyrotechnics.

Making its first ever appearance at Biggin Hill will be the Nazi's Luftwaffe fighter plane the Messerschmitt 109G-4 with its distinctive Daimler Benz 605A engine.

MORE TOP STORIES Also taking to the skies will be the RAF Chinook HC.4, the Bristol Blenheim bomber and the Fairy Swordfish biplane with the Royal Navy 'Black Cats' helicopter teams giving a flight demonstration.

Wing-top performances from the The Breitling Wingwalkers will show-off breathtaking gymnastics while strapped to the tops of planes.

But there will be more than enough to keep spectators entertained on the ground as well.

Singing quartet Putting on the Blitz will serenade the audience with some classic songs from the 1940s, and trio The Patriot Girls will also be doing renditions of some catchy numbers.

West End Kids will also be putting on a performance with singers and dancers from across the UK.

Classic cars will descend onto Biggin Hill - the finishing line for The Roundel Run Car Rally - and WWII re-enactors will be dressed in authentic 1940s uniforms.

The Model Zone will house radio-controlled boats, cars and planes on tracks and a lake.
