Battersea Brands Hatch is calling for new fundraisers, and thanking volunteers who have provided 5,000 hours of their time so far this year.
Battersea staff will hold parties next week to celebrate their 530 volunteers, who range from 18 to over 65 years of age, as part of National Volunteers’ Week (June 1-7).
The home, which takes in over 9,000 dogs and cats a year, relies on support from the public as it receives no government funding.
The Brands Hatch branch is asking individuals, schools and businesses to run fundraising events in the Kent area.
Battersea volunteers in action
Battersea’s community fundraising manager Natalie Wood said: “Our volunteer fundraisers work tirelessly and we’re so grateful for their support.
“We rely on the generosity and support of the public.
“Thanks to the fundraising activities organised by our passionate supporters, we can continue to care for homeless animals until new families can be found for them.”
