A 51-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offence in Wickham Street, Welling.
Police were called at around 3.30pm yesterday (May 6) following concerns for the well being of a person inside a house.
It was though he was in possession of a firearm.
Police stormed the area and closed the road before officers talked the man out of the address.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms.
He was taken to a south London police station where his mental health will be assessed.
Two handguns recovered two suspected handguns that will now be sent for forensic examination.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
Enquiries by Bexley Borough officers continue.
