The 2015 Hayes May Queens have been crowned - a tradition that dates back more than 100 years.

Hayes locals gathered for the coronation on April 25), gifted with glorious weather and a party to celebrate.

Last year's retiring queens carried out the inauguration at Hayes Library Gardens.

MORE TOP STORIES The Hayes Queen was awarded to Tabitha Boardman, 11, the Hayes Common Queen went to Ellen Thom, 9 and Lily Venables, 14, was crowned Hayes Village Queen.

Loren Thom, Ellen's mum, said: "I was so pleased for her, it was a beautiful day.

"It was great to see her so happy, smiling and enjoying her day.

"It was so lovely seeing Ellen surrounded by other attendants, all looking so beautiful and happy."

The crowning was followed by a parade through Hayes with a pipe band and drummer boys before a disco and refreshments at Hayes Village Hall.
