Plans for a Premier Inn hotel in Orpington have been approved.
Building work will begin on the 61-bedroom hotel, which will create around 25 jobs, later this year with completion expected in early 2016.
Hotel bosses applied for planning permission before Christmas to renovate Walnuts House, part of the Walnuts Shopping Centre in Orpington High Street.
John Rumsey, Premier Inn acquisitions manager, said: "As well as contributing to the regeneration of Orpington town centre, the Premier Inn will deliver £5.8m of investment and 25 new year-round jobs.
"We look forward to working with our development partner, Miller developments, and opening our doors to customers in early 2016."
A Bromley Council spokesperson said: “Planning permission has been granted for a new hotel in the Walnuts Square which will improve vitality and enhance the public amenities in the heart of the town centre, alongside the many other improvements continuing in Orpington.”
