A man from Beckenham has been named among Britons missing after Nepal’s deadly earthquake.

Lloyd Davies, 22, has been named by the Red Cross as one of the 50 or so Brits still missing.

His parents, Alun and Linda, are appealing for information over their son's whereabouts.

They last had contact with Mr Davies, who had previously been in India, on Friday (April 17).

Google’s Person Finder is compiling information about those still unaccounted for after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit on Saturday (April 25).

The earthquake destroyed much of Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, triggering an avalanche on Mount Everest.

The death toll has risen to 4,352 so far, with a further 8,063 injured.

International Development Secretary, Justine Greening, said the Government would also match the first £5 million made in public donations to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Earthquake Appeal.

She said: "A swift and effective UK response to the Nepal earthquake means help is already reaching all those affected by this terrible disaster.

“But as the devastating scale of the crisis becomes clearer, we are stepping up our efforts.”
