A naked man has allegedly been spotted “masturbating” in public for the second time in three days.
The culprit was seen on Footscray Road, New Eltham at around 4.35am this morning (April 18) by a young woman, who was walking home from a night out.
He then allegedly ran off down Cambridge Green with his underpants in his hand.
The woman, who cannot be named, said: “As I was walking down the road, I saw somebody go into a garden on the opposite side of the road.
“I then saw a head poking out from out from behind a car in the garden. It looked like he was kneeling or on all fours.
“His head was moving.”
The alleged victim said as she got level with him, he stepped out from behind the car and onto the pavement.
She added: “He was completely naked. He didn’t even have shoes on. He was just there masturbating.
“I kept checking behind me to make sure he wasn’t following me. Then he turned around and ran away down Cambridge Green.
“It looked like he had his underpants in his hand.”
The woman, who called the police immediately, described the man as white, in his 60s and slightly overweight.
When asked if she was shaken by the incident, she said: “I feel fine but if it had been someone vulnerable who came across him, it could have really frightened them.”
A Met Police spokesman said: “We were called at 4.40am today to reports of a man committing a sex act on Footscray Road.
“The suspect is believed to have fled down Cambridge Green.”
Greenwich officers are investigating.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
