A young, disabled Bromley woman has picked up the UK’s highest Girlguiding accolade.
Sarah Coulbert, 28, celebrated the achievement at the House of Commons with No More Page 3 campaign founder Lucy-Anne Holmes on Monday (April 13).
Chief Guide Gill Slocombe handed the Queen’s Guide Award to Ms Coulbert, who leads 1st Bromley Common Guides and runs Socialize, a group for young adults with disabilities.
Ms Coulbert completed a research project on Westminster Abbey, a photography assignment and raised money for an environmental charity for the award – a set of personal challenges.
She said: "I’m proud of my perseverance in completing the award while facing other challenges.
"I use a wheelchair and the award enabled me to do new things – like developing my photography skills.
"The Queen’s Guide Award is really amazing because it gives young women the motivation to discover new things and push themselves to have new experiences."
