A Bexleyheath children's centre are celebrating after opening a new community garden.
Mayor of Bexley, Councillor Howard Marriner and his deputy, Councillor Ross Downing officially opened the garden at Danson Youth Centre in Brampton Road on April 15.
Children's centre manager, Philippa Norris with her son Dexter 3, Debbie Creech - Pre-School manager, Joy Toghill - centre manager, Mayoress & Mayor - Dianne and Howard Marriner.
The project allows children and young people to plant and maintain the garden.
Children's Centre Manager, Philippa Norris said: "The children always look forward to their visits to the garden to see how their planting has developed.
"It gives them an enormous sense of achievement as well as educating them on the importance of growing their own plants, herbs, fruit and vegetables for the future."

The garden was supported and paid for by Friends For Bexley, The Jack Pethey Foundation, Danson Aunties, Asda Belvedere and The Bexley Play Fund.
