A Bexleyheath nine-year-old has teamed up with his best friend to run a mini-marathon in memory of his dad who lost his fight with cancer eight months ago.
Ben Evans lost his dad Nick Evans, 46, in August last year.
The youngster has teamed up with best pal, Drew Carter, also nine, to raise much-needed cash for the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice.
Nick Evans with daughter Layla and Ben.
The boys will run 2.62 miles on Sunday (April 19) and have already raised £1,100 in sponsorship in just two weeks.
Proud mum-of-two, Helen Evans, 44, said: "Our children are coping so well - 8 months on now.
"They have amazingly smashed their £200 target and have already reached in excess of £1,100 in just two weeks since the site was set up.
"The boys are passionate about the run and fully understand that by doing this, it will enable them to raise some much needed money to help other cancer sufferers."
