Two West Wickham fraudsters have been jailed after tampering with cash machines to steal money.

Ionut Taturu and Ciprian Dobos, both 25, placed a device on a machine outside Natwest Bank in Bearsted in Kent to pinch personal information and trap cash cards, which they later retrieved.

Taturu and Dobos, of Red Lodge Road, targeted customers using the Ashford Road machine between January 9 and February 20 this year.

One woman had more than £2,000 stolen through fraudulent transactions and the men committed further offences using a machine in Borough Green High Street.

Police arrested them when they discovered card-skimming devices and a bank card belonging to a victim after stopping and searching their car on February 25.

The men pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit fraud by false representation and were each sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on March 27 to 12 months in prison.
