A WOMAN was arrested today after a four-year-old girl was found dead at her home.
Police were called to the house in Wallasey, Merseyside, at 1.40am and found the child's body inside.
A 22-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police sources said the woman was the girl's mother.
A post-mortem will be carried out today to confirm the cause of death.
Shocked neighbours said only the mother and daughter lived at the semi-detached house, which they moved into two years ago.
They said the daughter was "a lovely little girl".
