The talents of rising hairdressing stars were celebrated in the Graham Webb International annual awards ceremony held at the Playhouse Theatre in Sevenoaks.

An excited crowd of 400 staff, parents and friends gathered to watch local stylists claim coveted prizes.

Among them was Rebecca Schock, of the Bexleyheath salon, who won Academy Student of the Year.

Amanda Guard, of the Beckenham salon, won the Clynol Colour Trophy and Rachel Baker, from the Orpington branch, was presented with the Graham Webb International Junior of the Year prize.

Stephen McDowell, Clynol's technical manager, who was on the judging panel, said the standard of hairdressing was the highest he had ever come across.

Fifty young hairdressers also graduated from the Graham Webb International training academy and collected their apprenticeship and advanced apprenticeship certificates.
