WORSHIPPERS will celebrate the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade by holding a car wash.

Hosted by members of Southborough Lane Baptist Church, Petts Wood, the event will be held on March 24, marking Freedom Day on March 25.

Freedom Day celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Abolition of the Transatlantic Slave Trade Act.

The Act marked a significant moment in the fight to end slavery.

This year, the day will highlight the need to abolish human trafficking.

The church event, dubbed Wash the Traffik, will be one of hundreds planned nationwide.

It will take place at the church between 10am and noon and the cost is £5.

Funds raised will go to Stop the Traffik, an international movement working to stop people trafficking.
