THERE were happier times for mugging victim Margaret Bristow when Bexley's mayor came to check on her progress.
The 81-year-old's arm was broken when she was robbed of her handbag at a Thamesmead bus stop on February 1.
When mayor Councillor Brian Beckwith read her story in News Shopper, he wanted to make sure she was recovering.
So he and the mayoress Councillor Aileen Beckwith called on Mrs Bristow bearing flowers last week for a cup of tea and a chat.
Mrs Bristow, who is less than 5ft tall, is still too frightened to leave her home on her own following the mugging, but is recovering from her physical injuries.
