CHARITY REPORT: Community charity Trust Thamesmead has issued its annual report and says it is now making a real difference to the town.

TRANSPORT CHAMP: Bexley councillor Daniel Francis has been appointed to the board of London TravelWatch, the watchdog for public transport users. Cllr Francis who is a regular public transport user, said he hoped to use his knowledge to represent passengers and push for improvements.

AMERICAN DREAM: Tories on the London Assembly propose to replace free bus travel for children with an American-style school bus system. Bob Neill, assembly member for Bexley and Bromley, says the proposal would reduce overcrowding and anti-social behaviour on buses.

POLICE SURGERIES: Northumberland Heath's neighbourhood policing team has launched surgeries for the public. They will be held on the first Wednesday of each month between 10.30am and 11.30am at the Pop-in Parlour in Mill Road.

HEALTH ZONE: Crook Log leisure centre, Brampton Road, Bexleyheath, has opened a complementary therapy zone. The zone is open from 10am to 9pm on weekdays and 10am to 6pm on Saturdays.
