FEBRUARY was a busy month for the Bromley & Orpington Group.
There were reports on the human rights situation in Belarus and the group signed a letter to the President in support of a young human rights worker who had been imprisoned without trial for criticising the government.
Members also signed letters about the ongoing situation in Democratic Republic of Congo.
And the group also noted Amnesty International's new campaign to draw consumer awareness towards the sourcing of conflict diamonds.
The group agreed to contact jewellers in the borough to ensure they had a policy on the origins of the diamonds they sell.
The group is also continuing a recruitment and awareness drive, which is proving very successful.
All are welcome at the monthly meetings held in Orpington.
