A BURNT dinner alerted firefighters to an elderly man who had gone into a diabetic coma.
The 68-year-old man was cooking on the hob of his cooker when he was became ill in Charlton Park Road, Charlton, last night.
Firefighters were called after his fire alarm went off at around 9.30pm.
When they arrived, a council worker who assists the man had been alerted by a monitoring system in the property.
They entered the house and called paramedics, who took the man to hospital.
