Two aspiring tailors hung out with supermodels as they were crowned the King and Queen at a high profile fashion event.

Joe Holsgrove, 20, and Dionne Reeves, 29, clinched the first and second place at the Golden Shears Award 2015.

Both Savile Row apprentice tailor, they were two of just 25 nominees shortlisted for the coveted prize.

Mr Holsgrove, from Belmost Lane, Chislehurst, walked away with the Golden Shears, the top accolade of the evening.

MORE TOP STORIES Fellow apprentice Ms Reeves, from Wadhurst Close, Penge, clinched the Silver Shears award at the prestigious event in London on Monday (March 16).

Mr Holsgrove said: “I am speechless; all the hard work has paid off.”

He won the exclusive award for his half shooting jacket and trousers, while Ms Reeves’ military inspired creation won over judges.

With a panel including supermodel Jodie Kidd, actress Jennifer Saunders and fashion designer Betty Jackson, it was a night to impress.

Ms Kidd said of the standard: “I was thoroughly impressed, women were really nailing menswear.”
