A Guardian journalist has issued a desperate Twitter appeal for witnesses of her cousin’s death in Lewisham last September.

South London writer Zoe Williams tweeted to her 49,000 followers how her “young second cousin” was killed in a road accident on September 12 and his parents are trying to find people to give evidence for the inquest next month.

She sent a series of poignant messages from her @zoesqwilliams account at around 12.40pm yesterday (March 12).

She said: “Lewisham Twitter; my 2nd cousin was killed by a car - he was on a motorbike - on Sep 12, 10.15am 2014, Loampit Vale junction with Jerrard St.

“His parents really need witnesses ahead of the inquest at the end of April.

“Can you RT that last, + think of anyone who'd have been in the area?

“CCTV doesn't show the exact spot and nobody so far has got any information.”

News Shopper reported on the tragic event when it happened.

The 22-year-old motorcyclist from Brockley died in Kings College Hospital from his injuries, hours after the collision.

An investigation was launched by detectives from the serious collision investigation unit but there have been no arrests.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to call 020 8285 1574.
