CCTV has been released as police re-appeal for information after a bus driver was attacked with a knife in Penge.

The 41-year-old bus driver was assaulted along Penge High Street around 5pm on June 30 last year.

Despite an appeal at the time, the man was never caught and police have now released CCTV footage after the incident appeared on Crimewatch last Monday (March 2).

The driver of the 227 bus was going along the High Street when the suspect, holding a child's hand, walked in front of the bus.

The suspect ran down the road and leaned in through the driver's open window, stabbing him near his right eye with a Stanley knife.

He then made off towards Cottingham Road.

The suspect is described as a black male, thought to be in his early 20s, with afro hair and was wearing a bright blue tracksuit.
