A 16-year-old girl was trespassing on the tracks near Shortlands station.

The unnamed teenager was between Shortlands and Bromley South station around 10am today (March 3).

Trains were stopped with British Transport Police (BTP) officers and Met Police officers assisting in searching the area.

MORE TOP STORIES There were delays to services earlier which are thought to have returned to normal by 11am.

A BTP spokesman said: “Our officers were called to Shortlands rail station on Tuesday, 3 March, following a report of a woman trespassing on the tracks.

“Trains were stopped for a short time whilst officers searched the area.

“A 16-year-old girl was taken to a place of safety by officers, she did not receive any injuries during the incident.”

The tracks and line were handed back to Network Rail by 10.24am.
