Dartford shoppers looked to the sky for some stargazing on Saturday (Feb 21)
Crayford Manor House Astronomical Society Dartford organised the free event at the Orchard Shopping Centre.
There were advice sessions on how to spot stars and as well as displays, games, roof-top observations, crafts and face painting.
Publicity officer Honor Wheeler said: “As well as the displays and information sessions, there were two astronomy themed quizzes and face painters Domi and Betty Jadoul provided a great mix of astronomy and character themed face designs.
“In the evening, forty members of the public assembled in the centre’s carpark with Dartford's Mayor Councillor Avtar Sandhu to observe the sky from telescopes.
“We all saw the International Space Station pass over the UK and seemingly fly near to the moon – it was a very successful evening.”
The society, based in Parsonage Lane, Sutton-at-Hone, was established in 1961 and meets every Thursday of the year.
