A whopping 2,000 parakeets were spotted at the new breakaway night roost in Danson Park last week.
Eleven people attended the count at the Friends of the Shuttle with 2,125 of the birds counted on the evening of February 17.
There were also around 60 pied wagtails spotted roosting in the oak tree near Bexleyheath Clocktower.
Bexley Natural Environment Forum vice-chairman Chris Rose said: "We’re taking an increasing interest in Danson Park, which lacks a hands-on environment group, and we’re developing a programme of wildlife events to be held here across the rest of the year."
A free bird-watching walk, organised by Bexley RSPB, also took place in the park on Tuesday (Feb 24).
