A 17-year-old boy has been arrested following a fire in Taunton Vale, Gravesend.

Kent fire crews were called to the three-storey house at 8.40pm yesterday (February 14).

Three fire engines were sent to the scene and stayed until 9.30pm when the blaze was extinguished.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "All persons accounted for.

"Firefighters used breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a ventilation fan to extinguish the fire and clear smoke.

"The ground floor suffered extensive damage."

A Kent Polic e spokesman said: "A 17-year-old boy from Gravesend has been arrested on suspicion of arson and currently remains in custody.

"Enquiries are on-going."

It is not thought that anyone was injured in the fire.
London Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and two response cars to the scene to treat one patient for smoke inhalation.

They were talen to Darent Valley Hospital.
