Fire leaves residents of Thamesmead tower block without power
An electrical fire has broken out in tower block in Thamesmead.
London Fire crews and Met police officers were called to the scene of the small fire at Maplin House in Wolvercote Road earlier today (February 12).
A police spokesman said that the fire left residents without electricity for around 20 minutes.
The incident was left in the hands of an electric company.
The spokesman added: "Police were on hand to provide reassurance as several residents called 999."
