A solicitor from Farnborough has branded Bromley Council 'unreasonable ' after he successfully repealed a parking ticket.

Alex Adeyemo, 51, was picking up his 10-year-old daughter from Warren Road Primary School, off Sevenoaks Road, last October.

He was then issued with a £55 ticket but could not understand why.

He claims he parked outside a dropped kerb, but only if the occupants request parking enforcement can a ticket be issued.

Staying inside the car the entire time he was given a ticket via a camera.

The married father-of-three went to an adjudicator who held up his appeal stating: "The adjudicator has allowed the appeal on the grounds that the contravention did not occur."

Mr Adeyemo, who lives in Farnborough Village, said: "It wasn't to do with enforcement of any traffic laws, just money making.

"I make sure I don't breach traffic laws."

Mr Adeyemo, who drives a Mercedes Benz C-Class, added: "I don't think they expect people to travel to London to see the adjudicator, or have the time and resources or expertise to appeal.

"What they didn't know and what I didn't tell them is that I'm a solicitor."

He added he thought the council was arbitrarily issuing tickets to get money, as most motorists would not be able to appeal them.

He added: "Lots of people won't fight the £55 and it's easier to pay it so I think the council think people won't bother then they make money.

"They want to make money by any means necessary, their behaviour was really unreasonable.

"I might bill them for my time spent on this!"

Adding insult to injury, Mr Adeyemo says after his appeal was upheld the council wrote another letter to him saying they 'withdraw' the ticket.

His last words of advice to fellow drivers were: "You should always follow it up."

He added he was sharing his story to make people aware that some tickets can be fought and won.

His ticket was repealed in late December.
