A former Hither Green fish and chip shop which turned into a nightclub has taken a battering from councillors and must revert to being a restaurant.

As News Shopper reported earlier this month, neighbours had complained about boozy nights at Aces Bar with loud music, fights and even strippers at a venue which was only meant to be a restaurant.

And, following a licensing committee meeting this week, Aces must now comply with a series of conditions and can only serve alcohol until midnight at weekends and 11pm on weeknights.

It must also be run as a restaurant rather than a bar - meaning drinkers must be sat at a table having ordered food - with no entertainment allowed from 11pm at weekends, and no music in the conservatory or gardens after 9pm.
