A star of Coronation Street and Bromley's Churchill Theatre was on hand to help spread some real magic.

Marc Bayliss, who played the handsome prince in the High Street theatre's production of Sleeping Beauty, joined forces with charity Magpie Dance.

The group provides dancing and performance opportunities for people with disabilities.

Churchill Theatre supports the charity by providing them with free office space.

Mr Bayliss, joined by 80s popstar Sonia who played the good fairy, commemorated the charity's 30th birthday on January 4.

The two stars, who were on stage until January 5, helped release 30 balloons outside the theatre.

Inside 10 of the balloons was a £30 voucher for a prize from Bromley's FLR Spectron, in five was a taster voucher to J'amies Gymnastic Academy, based in Bromley and the surrounding area.

One lucky winner was also set to receive a free session with Buzzbee Kids, in Beckenham, inside one balloon.

Magpie Dance general manager, Laura Graham, said: "Releasing 30 balloons from our home at the Churchill Theatre with the Magpie family was a wonderful way to mark our 30th anniversary.

"Thank you to panto stars Sonia and Marc for their support and to local businesses for supplying prizes to attach to the balloons."

Ms Graham confirmed they did not yet know who the winners were.
