A Gravesend couple with 11 children – who claim £39,000 a year in benefits – have launched a foul-mouthed attack on journalists after reports of a “joke” 12th pregnancy hit the headlines.

The Prudhams, who live in Hampton Crescent, were featured on the front page of the Sun on January 2 after mum Cheryl Prudham posted a picture of a baby scan on Facebook with the caption “Prudham baby #12”.

The Sun splashed on the announcement under the headline Twelfth Mite.

However, Mrs Prudham, who gave birth to twins Lacey-May and Lexi-Rose in August last year, then replaced the post with the statement “the joke’s on you”.

Mrs Prudham and husband, Rob, 29, then invited a national newspaper reporter back to their house, and greeted him with a tirade of foul language while throwing buckets of water at him.

The mum-of-11 has since posted on her Facebook page under the name Cheryl Elevenkidsandproud Prudham, showing husband Rob opening the door to a national news reporter.

The video was later uploaded on to YouTube.

Mr Prudham threatens the journalist, warning him not to “come papering” around his house again.

And the publicity-hating couple can be heard calling the reporter a “filthy, scummy b******” before Mr Prudham and Mrs Prudham’s eldest son George, 14, chases him down the street, throwing eggs at his car.

Mr Prudham takes to the camera with a stark warning to journalists, saying: “Whoever wants to f*** about, papers, you are all going to get the same. My name’s Rob Prudham and you’re all going to get it.”

HOW WORK AND BENEFITS INCOME STACKS UP FOR THE PRUDHAMS

Together, Mr and Mrs Prudham have twins Lacey-May and Lexi-Rose, Leon, three, Lenny, two, and Lainey, one.

Cheryl also has George, 14, Jack, 13, Caitlin, nine, Maisie, eight, Millie, six, and Madison, five, from previous relationships.

The couple each work 20 hours a week as carers for the elderly, which brings in about £1,400 a month, adding up to £15,000 a year, meaning they do not pay income tax.

Their rent of £123 a week is paid for by the council and they receive £400 a week in child tax credits.

They also receive £8,030 a year in child benefits.
