Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from a flat fire in New Cross.
The London Fire Brigade was called to a house converted into flats on Pepys Road at 9.55am yesterday (December 28).
A man was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service suffering from smoke inhalation.
Part of a five-room flat on the first floor was damaged by fire.
Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers from Deptford, New Cross, Greenwich and Old Kent Road fire stations attended the incident.
The blaze was under control by 10.30am. Its cause is under investigation.
