A school has been awarded for its work on improving the wellbeing, resilience and self esteem of students who are disadvantaged in their learning.

Charlton Park Academy have been awarded with the Achivement for All Quality Mark, recognising the work the schools does to improve every child to be the best that they can be regardless of their background, challenges or needs.

The Achievement for All programme works closely with parents, carers and the individual child to secure the best outcome and attainment for students through personalised and specific targets.

Mark Dale Emberton, school principal, said: "We have been working with this programme since September 2012 and are delighted that improvements it has brought are ensuring consistent improvements within the whole school.

"This means that all parents know we provide the very best education for all our students.

"My thanks to all of the staff that have made this possible and we know that we will continue to improve our standards even further."
