Six years after a Catford dad-of-two was shot in the back and killed, detectives are returning to the scene and renewing their appeal for information.

Davion Watt, of Bargery Road, was found lying injured in Brixton's Coldharbour Lane on December 19 2008 at 12.55pm.

The 26-year-old was taken to Kings College Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

But despite arresting seven men over the killing, no one has ever been brought to justice for the murder and the weapon has never been found.

The investigation at the time believed the incident that lead to Davion's shooting began at a flat near the junction with Denmark Hill.

It is thought that intruders intended to rob the flat Davion was in and, as he ran from them, he was shot and collapsed on the pavement where he was found.

Acting Detective Inspector Peter Hine, from the Trident Gang Crime Command's Legacy Team, said: "Without anyone coming forward we fear that Davion's family may never get the justice they so desperately want.

"With our anniversary appeal, we hope that the intervening years since Davion's murder have seen the allegiances change of those that may have kept silent and that those people can now re-examine their consciences and consider doing the right thing and help us prosecute those responsible, bringing closure to the case for Davion's family."
