Greenwich police are looking to bring festive joy to disadvantaged children this Christmas.
They have collected hundreds of Christmas presents and will donate it to less fortunate youngsters across Greenwich.
Help was received from schools across the borough including The Joan Roan and Bannockburn Primary School.
Police set a target to round up 500 presents from anyone willing to donate and are already on track to do so.
PC Iain O’Hara said: "My colleagues and I are simply touched by the generosity and kindness of those who have assisted us.
"I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated. The Christmas spirit is well and truly alive in south east London"
The project was inspired by Met Police commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe who was part of a similar concept 30 years ago in Sheffield when he was a PC.
