A 50-year-old man suffered burns in a gas explosion in a tower block in Erith this morning.
Police were called at around 10.15am to reports of a distressed man and a gas leak in Cambria House, Larner Road.
The fire and ambulance services also attended.
The floors immediately above and below the man's flat were evacuated and, shortly afterwards, there was a gas explosion in the kitchen area of the man's flat.
The injured man was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a Kent hospital with burns. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The incident is being investigated by Bexley police.
