Fancy a hotel room overlooking one of south east London's most unpopular road junctions? Your luck could be in.

Plans look set to be approved next Monday for the demolition of Burger King at New Eltham's notoriously busy fiveways junction - where Sidcup Road meets Green Lane.

In its place would be built an 86-room Premier Inn hotel, four storeys high, with a reception, restaurant and bar provided at ground floor level.

Access to the hotel would be provided for pedestrians from Sidcup Road with vehicle access off Green Lane.

There will also be 50 car park spaces, accessed via the undercroft towards the south of the site.

A planning board will decide on the application for the building - once a tavern and inn called Crossways - next week, with officers recommending it for approval.
